Shenpen is organizing an impactful program at Shree Nepal Rastriya Neramavi School, situated in the remote area of Jagarnathpur Sira Rural Municipality, Ward No. 4, Parsa District. This government institution currently educates 400 students, many of whom come from economically challenged backgrounds where families struggle to meet basic needs. For these families, affording educational expenses is often a distant dream. In these remote areas, students face numerous challenges, including inadequate access to educational resources, limited exposure to diverse learning opportunities, and a lack of basic infrastructure. Frequent power outages, unreliable transportation, and insufficient school supplies further complicate their ability to learn effectively.
Bridging Educational Gaps
Our initiative aims to bring support and hope to these children, helping them overcome the barriers to their education. This comprehensive program is designed to provide a holistic learning experience that includes physical, intellectual, and environmental education. The program will take place from August 19 to September 2, 2024, and will include a variety of activities tailored to the students’ needs.
Promoting Physical Fitness and Teamwork
To promote physical fitness and teamwork, we will organize a sports tournament featuring football, cricket, volleyball, and traditional games. These activities will help the children stay active and learn the importance of working together.
Enhancing Public Speaking Skills
In addition to sports, we will host a speaking competition called “Speak Your Mind.” This event is designed to help students improve their public speaking skills, gain confidence, and express themselves more freely. They will have the opportunity to speak on various topics and receive constructive feedback from their peers.
Encouraging Collaborative Learning
We are also planning a quiz competition named “Brain Busters Quiz” to encourage teamwork and knowledge sharing. This fun and competitive event will allow students to work in teams and answer questions on different subjects, promoting learning in a collaborative setting.
Fostering Academic Excellence
Another academic-focused event is the “Young Scholars Olympiad,” which will challenge students to think critically and solve problems. This competition aims to foster a love for learning and academic excellence among the participants.
Teaching Financial Literacy
To teach important life skills, we will conduct a “Smart Money Skills” session on financial literacy. Students will learn about budgeting, saving, and investing, which are crucial for their future financial well-being.
Raising Environmental Awareness
Lastly, we are organizing a tree plantation project called “Green Future.” This initiative will raise environmental awareness and responsibility among students. By planting trees, they will contribute to the local ecosystem and learn about the importance of conservation.
Making a Lasting Impact
This project will have a profound impact by enriching students’ education through diverse activities, enhancing their physical and mental development, and equipping them with crucial life skills. The sports tournaments, speaking competitions, and quizzes will boost their knowledge, confidence, and teamwork. Financial literacy sessions will prepare them for future financial management, while the tree plantation project will raise environmental awareness and responsibility. By addressing educational, physical, and environmental needs, the initiative will empower students and support a community in economic hardship, offering a brighter and more hopeful future.
Partnering with KUSOM
We are collaborating with students from Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM) to implement this project. Shenpen will be sponsoring Rs. 100,000 of the total budget and plans to raise the amount through our website. We believe showcasing this project on our homepage will attract more support and donations, helping us further our mission and make a meaningful difference in the lives of these children.
